In this part of Nordmarka ( forested area north from Oslo) there are many wild animals - if you are lucky you can meet moose, beaver, deer, eagle, hawk, fox and many more. We of course do not control the wild animals, so we cannot guarantee that we will encounter any while on this tour. With this in mind, the opportunity to see wild animals is always present, so keep your camera ready because you never know what's around the next bend! Oslo Hiking's founder has met wild animals several times on this trail.

We will begin our adventure at the Tiger Statue outside the Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget. We will take a scenic train ride to Frognerseteren station, enjoying the stunning views as the train winds its way through the hills, leading us to the start of our hike.

From here we will make our way through the lush green forest to the majestic Skjennungstoppen mountain. The trail offers a perfect balance of challenging terrain and peaceful pathways, as you hike through the stunning Norwegian wilderness. Once we reach the summit of Skjennungstoppen, we will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

In this part of the forest you can find fox, beaver, moose, deer, eagle, hare and many other animals! They are all harmless and can be quite elusive, but keep your eye's peeled because every day is a new adventure!

We will have two breaks at a "hytte" (traditional cabins): the cottage of Skjennungenstua and Ullevålseter. They serve great coffee and fresh pastry, such as freshly made waffles, served with jam and sour cream or Norwegian brown cheese. We will also visit the geographic center of Oslo, which is located right in the middle of the forest.

We end our hike at the always stunning Sognsvann Lake, take the metro line back to the city and finish our trip at Jernbanetorget.

Please keep in mind that this hiking tour is quite challenging.
