Oslo is fairly compact, which means that you can actually see a lot in 24 hours. It is a capital without crowds, right next to the blue Oslofjord surrounded by the green forest Oslomarka.

This tour combines both the vibrant city and beautiful nature and you get to explore it with your very own expert guide.

P.S: A 24- hour ticket for the public transportation is included in the price.

Day 1: Discover Oslo with your own licensed guide

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel at 14:00 or any other place in the city centre that is convenient for you. The walk takes you through some of the city center of Oslo, passing by several must-sees. Depending on where you start your tour these attractions can be the Opera house, Akershus Fortress, Oslo's main street Karl Johan or the city hall. Your authorized Oslo Guide will enlighten you with several in-depth facts about the many highlights you'll encounter on your way around Oslo, show you people and culture the Oslo way.

Depending on where you start your tour a stop at the Vigeland sculpture park and the Viking ship museum can also be included. The largest sculpure park in the world by a single artist contains more than 200 sculptures and is one of Norways can’t miss places. It is the life work of Gustav Vigeland whose sculptures represent the human condition illustrating the complexities of relationships and the journey from the cradle to the grave.

The Viking ship museum offers an experience out of the ordinary. Here you can discover the best preserved Viking Ships in the world and exquisitely carved objects from the Viking age. The museum contains three original Viking ships that are more than 1000 years old and your expert guide will tell you more about their way of life. At around 18:00 you will end your tour next to the train station where your hiking guide will pick you up the next day.

P.S.: Before saying good buy to your guide be sure to ask about insider tips on how to explore Oslo’s nightlife in the evening! Did you know that one of the worlds best bars is located in downtown Oslo?

Day 2. Hiking through the Norwegian forest and visit the Rose Castle

The tour starts from the Jernbanetorget, train station in the city center at 9:00. Together we will take a train to Lillevann, and here our adventure begins! This train ride provides the best panoramic views of the Oslo fjord.

From Lillevann, we will wander through the lush forest, enjoying the smell of pine trees and fresh air. In the summer, the forest is all green and wild, with ferns and blueberry bushes.

Next stop of our tour is Voksenkollen. The hiking trail will lead us to the small, but picturesque lake called Øvresetertjern. Here, on the lake shore, we will take a rest and have a hearty break, enjoying snacks and drinks.

After the break, we will hike to the Rose Castle, an art installation and an educational project, which aims to tell the story of the occupation of Norway and of the principles of humanism. The tickets are included in price and we will spend about 30 minutes in the Rose Castle learning about the history. Situated north to the city, this area is located 400 m above the sea level, so we will have some spectacular views of the Oslofjord. The train station Frognerseteren is located nearby.

We will then take a train back to Jernbanetorget, where we started our tour earlier, at 13:00.
