We meet at Jernbanetorget in the city center. From there we will take a private transportation to the idyllic village of Hvalstad, where we will see the majestic mountain Skaugumåsen. First, however, we are off to the beautiful lake Semsvannet. The clean pure water made this area is famous for its numerous bird species and nesting places. In the morning, this view is absolutely stunning!
After a small break, we continue along narrow paths, climbing over massive rocks, and small mountain slopes, before we reach Djupedalsåsen. Here we will catch some brilliant views far to the west. Soft green carpets of grass and moss makes it hard to resist to sit or lie down and enjoy the view and the sun!
At the top of Skaugumåsen you can see the Crown Prince couple's residence and one of Asker's most beautiful views. This has been a favorite destination for locals for more than 100 years. The view from here is incredible! Skaugumåsen is also Norway´s northernmost site where the protected mistletoe can be found.
Here we enjoy the spectacular view and share the lunch. Inspired by all we have seen and experienced today, we will move to the next peak; Grosetkollen. From this hill we can see virtually all of Oslo, and inner Oslofjord.
Finally, we will walk down to Hvalstad again and return to the center of Oslo where we started.

Had an amazing time on our hike today with Marlene and her crew. The views were stunning and the guides were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area and its surrounds. We learnt many new facts and shared many stories getting to know our guides. We would definitely go with this company again for another tour and highly recommend doing this hike if you want to experience the wilderness of Norway.
